BTCCSquare news:

Broadcom has escalated its rivalry with Nvidia in the AI chip market with the launch of its Tomahawk Ultra, a high-performance switch designed to manage data traffic between multiple silicon chips in server racks. The new product directly competes with Nvidia's NVLink Switch, claiming to connect up to four times more processors in a single network.

Unlike Nvidia's proprietary interconnect, Broadcom's solution leverages an enhanced version of Ethernet, optimized for low latency and high throughput. Ram Velaga, Broadcom's senior vice president, emphasized the chip's innovation and the company's commitment to advancing Ethernet for AI scale-up. "Tomahawk Ultra is a testament to innovation, involving a multi-year effort by hundreds of engineers," Velaga stated.

The MOVE underscores the intensifying battle for supremacy in AI infrastructure, where efficient data handling is critical. Broadcom's entry could disrupt Nvidia's dominance, offering a more scalable and widely supported alternative.
